We are kicking off our new blog for P3 Marketing Strategies here at the P3 Knowledge Lab. So I thought to myself for this initial post I would walk you through my why.
Why marketing? Why help local businesses? And why did I start P3?
First, why the why? When we set out to develop a new marketing strategy for a local business, one of the first questions we look at is why. Why are they in business? This not only helps us use the correct wording and branding, but also helps us work towards the avatar or ideal client of the business.
First, why marketing?
My original love of marketing started at an early age trying to promote my mother’s flower shop. I loved developing fun and exciting programs to share our love of flowers with the community and bring in new sales.
In the days before the internet was major player, it was more of a grassroots effort, from free flowers, the name game and frequent flower buyer programs.
Then finally I was able to attend college and get my bachelors degree from University of Houston (go Cougs!) in, surprise surprise, marketing!
So why help small or local businesses?
I know first hand what it is like owning and growing your own business. It is a struggle like no other!
I know the dream very well after watching my mother for over 35 years.
I'll start my own business. I'm good at _________ and running my own business will be fun! #FamousLastWords #BoyWasIWrong #WouldNotChangeAnythingYou don’t just start a business for money, it’s the freedom and lifestyle you want. But before you know it, you are working more hours than your 9 to 5. You’re stressed to the max because now you’re doing less of what you love and more managing. Managing employees, the business, clients.
That’s where I come in. I know the struggles of running a successful business. You have to balance keeping clients happy, branding yourself as an influencer, manage your employees, set an overall vision for the company and do it all at a profitable level to make the stress worth it.
Leveraging my marketing experience to help and grow businesses is a passion for me. I love to see businesses and business owners succeed. And to do that, marketing is a crucial part of the puzzle.
Marketing is an investment, not an expense.Plus, by letting me focus on what I do, it frees you up to take care of other important decisions.
Lastly, why did I start P3 Marketing Strategies?
My children are the biggest reason. I could go out to a large marketing firm and work for “the man.” There, I am subject to protocols, over priced packages, and boring marketing, not to mention the working at a desk from 9-5.
Since starting P3 Marketing Strategies, I am able to create individualized marketing plans after getting to know a business. Not all small businesses can afford to market like the big dogs, but with my connections I still have access to the same tools they do.
Most of our services revolve around 4 basic core strategies:
Owning P3 and working from my home office allows me the flexibility to have crazy office hours. Plus, I can spend the most amount of time enjoying my boys. #Boymomsrule Also, by not being restricted to an office location, I can pull in the best employees from all over the world to help provide stellar services.
Having my own marketing agency has been a dream come true. I will always take care of my clients like I have taken care of my mom and her florist.
So these are my “whys.” I would love to here your why’s and explore how P3 Marketing Strategies can help your business grow and exceed your expectations.
